learn to play poker

well, i learned texas hold ‘em. it wasn’t official, but i still love it. gotta control the urge to gamble…

For me this goal is completed when I can earn on average $50 per hour over three month period playing NL/FL hold’em online (not including multi table tournaments…)

At the moment I can stay even on micro limit tables, so I am really a newbie… (but learning fast!)

So hopefully I will be able to beat my friends :)

First time to learn the game and he won. I’m not sure if bluffing is his favorite sport! Just kidding! :P

Yeah, I do know the rules to poker, and I’ve won at some home cash games/tournaments and online. But the original plan was that I couldn’t mark this goal as complete until I finished the latest poker book I bought.

It’s just that my heart isn’t in it, and rarely do I ever play anymore. The last tourney was 8 months ago. So, I’m going to shelve this goal for now, at least until I’m more interested and it actually sounds fun.

how to play for more than just the game at hand.

I went to a Poker night at a friends place (not to play – just watched) and teh guys were telling me about the free online sites for poker. SO next day I jumped on to have a look…... 5 hours later I was still there screaming at the other people at the table for taking so long and making silly bets liek I was some kind of pro – was pathetic. I had one fag break in 5 hours – anything thats more addictive than nicotine cannot be good for me LOL

Well I started learning this past weekend playing a couple rounds with a group. I’m slowly getting the hang of it but I think it is going to take a while before I completely understand it and feel comfortable playing. I can’t wait to play again.

Turns out a local pub is part of the pokerproject tournament thing. I’m going to pressure some mates into going and i’ll make enquiries ;)
