I’m finding myself really bored and desperately wanting children, since I’m not pregnant yet I need to find myself a hobby to help me with my boredom. Today my husband made me list off the things that throughout my life I’ve thought might be interesting or fun, but I’ve never actually taken any steps to doing because of a multitude of lame and equally boring reasons.
My List:
Take an art class
Take a photography class
Take voice lessons
Go white water rafting
Start a garden
Get frequent exercise
Get an aquarium…
That’s about all I’ve come up with so far.

Saw an idea in someone’s 43things about altering a book, collage- style. Just recording the idea here so I won’t forget it.

Eveline
is kinda desperate with college
well, i think i can’t take it too serious, right? for example, some people have a garage band but they take it so serious that they really believe than can get famous. so that’s not a hobby.
but i always take everything serious. i should relax a little more and allow myself to make mistakes and have fun with them.
ok, i accept suggestions.

is picking out blinds and curtains for my new house
My husband has several hobbies that he’s passionate about and yet, I can’t even find one! I liket o read and shop and do all the normal things, but I need to find something that I look forward to doing and have it be something I’ve never done before but have always been interested in…I’m just not quite sure what that is yet…

Does anyone have any unusual hobbies? I’m looking for something creative to do. Just thought I would ask around.
also, does anyone have any ideas about how to push through the inertia of procrastination?
thanks in advance for any advice.

So, hobbies are hard to find. First, you have to find something you might be good at. Finding that…thing…means you first have to try something brand new. Usually, you are not GOOD at brand new things, so you have to try them for a bit to figure out if you can even get good at it. Then, if you hate the hobby you are trying, you move on to a new venture. All this while you are trying to maintain a life and relationships with friends, family, and still have a job.
But, I NEED something that is just mine. Something creative that I am good. Something I can do but never be judged on. Something like painting except I cannot paint. Something like writing, but I have no ideas. Something…something like creating clothing but I have horrible taste.
Maybe my first hobby should be to get some confidence, because according to the above paragraph, I am not good at anything! So, my first hobby is to gain confidence while trying something new. Now I just have to try and figure out what to try…

I'm so bored
I have decided that I need to find a hobby to occupy my time. I have been bored for quite a long time, mourning the loss of previous interests. My official search starts today, with the Internet as my source. Please wish me luck.

Fantastic, and it’s a lot easier than I thought…. I caught myself one day just sitting here and thinking of websites to create just for fun (i’m majoring in web design) and that’s when I realized, my hobby is digital creativity :)
Good luck to all!

i always spend so much time doing homework and engaging in academics, but i want a hobby i can do just for fun. i already play an instrument, but i wouldn’t call it a hobby. don’t you have to be good at something to enjoy doing it? i’m not good at anything but academics…
