I’m going to see how long I can go without eating out. It’s more of a money issue than a health issue for me. Even though I don’t eat out at expensive places very much, all of those cheap meals add up really fast. Lunch is going to be my biggest challenge. Going out to eat just seems so much easier than taking the time to make myself something that morning. I know it’s only January 4th, but so far so good in 2009!
How to eat out less
How I did it: cooked at home over and over and over and over and over and over and over again period the end of this story for it is over and must end here and now because this website needs more emotional commitment than I am interested in providing at this time

No Eating out at all yet, though this is just day two of the new year, I am optimistic.

I have started designing weekly menus for the house. I stick them on the fridge or in the kitchen so that rather than be tempted to snag a bite while I am out, I can think of how delicious the dinner at home will be. I think this is working, but I won’t feel sure enough to “complete” this goal until the end of January at the earliest.
I hope I can keep this up.

I would be very happy to have sushi with friends one evening a week, and go for breakfast every Sunday with friends, and not eat out other than that. It would benefit both my wallet and my waistline :)

T made asparagus wrapped in prosciutto and filo with Parmesan plus gnocchi from Mazaro’s with a blue cheese cream sauce. It was an a+ meal even if it was probably more salt than I should eat. Better than anything we could have eaten out!

I went through my monthly statement and decided to figure out where I was my money.
I spent nearly $400 dollars eating out in one month through my debit card! That doesn’t include the eating out I paid for in cash or that I didn’t have to pay for! It also doesn’t include the meals I have deducted from my check at the hospital cafeteria. That’s awful!! I been trying to eat out less this month, and so far I think I’m doing a good job. I can’t wait to see my next billing statement.

chili tonight and steak, potatoes, and asparagus last night. I LOVE that my husband loves to cook!

I love the socialness of eating out, but my waistline and my budget can’t handle the frequency! I want to eat out less often, but still have dinners with friends at yummy restaurants. I want eating out to be meaningful, not just convenient.
