Planning Now
I pitched the idea to a bunch of friends just yesterday. Most of them sound enthused. We all live in southern Ontario, so we need to think about getting there and back, where to stay while we’re there, how long to stay for, what events we want to see, etc.
It definitely won’t be cheap, but money’s just money – who knows when the Olympics will be in Canada again after this!

I was able to drive down from Charlotte, NC to Atlanta for the day and was able to get tickets to three events that day. I would really love to go to the Winter Olympics in Vancouver for several days with my family. Anyone have any suggestions on how to find accomodations? So far any packages are completely outrageous at $7,000 per person for 5 days! Any suggestions would be great.

To whom it may concern,
i am looking for the opportunity of a lifetime!
i am mother with a 1 year old daughter from the AUSTRALIAN CAPITAL TERRITORY. I had a dream my whole life and that was one day represent AUSTRALIA in figure skating. Unfortunately we could not afford the training needed, i had a great coach REG PARK whom was partnered with my grandmother in the pairs, he is also an International judge.
Now that i am mother it feels like my dream is slipping away. I am only 20 years old and i feel that i should have one ultimate experience in a lifetime and this is definately it!
So if you have any job opportunities available for a 20year old australian mum i could do anything from tickets to cleaning.
I only want to get to Canada so bad for this event its world history and i know Canada will have the Best Olympics Ever

Going, really!

I made up my mind watching the last winter games. It just seems so cool (yep, cool!) to watch the games in person. I’m a winter guy anyways, so this time, I and the family are on our way.
I’ve set the money aside (hopefully, appreciating) and have logged onto the official site to ensure I’m in line for tickets.
The ONLY issue… lodging…
probably want to stay in Whistler region as there is where nordic and alpine skiing will be at.
Any tips? I hear that the hotels will not take an advanced reservation and the condo firms won’t answer any of my emails…
any info will be appreciated!
Let’s all hoist a canadian lager when we get there!

We want to see ice hockey, snowboarding, and the ski jump. What events does everyone else want to see?

Four years away is hard to plan, but I really want to do this, just go for a week. I love the Winter Olympics and right now this is something I could do. If anyone that has done this has advice on how to plan, please let me know!

I promised myself I wouldn’t miss another Olympics in Atlanta. MAde plans for the Drive, got in touch with Tenneseans I know—for lodging, and then got busy at work.
Found out what a few other Ski instructors did with volunteer gigs at Salt Lake, and it burnt me up.
Looking for volunteer work at the Vancouver games, even if I can’t get on the slopes.
Going to do it. Going to have the time and the money.
