is feeling very down, but is hopeful for improvement.
I always used to do so well. Graduated with a 98.75 from high school and was third in my class. Finished my first year of college with a 4.0. But, sophomore year things got stressful with my boyfriend’s health issues, and I didn’t even make Dean’s List (3.5 required) either semester.
This year has been worst of all as my boyfriend was hospitalized the second week of classes and diagnosed with bipolar disorder. I dropped my first class, and even though I have an A in one of my (easier) classes, my two upper-level bio courses are killing me. I have about a B- in both. I’m just not working hard enough. My admission to medical school, which I had when I entered college, is even at risk. I should be okay, but I need to do better in order to be sure of it.
So I want to make Dean’s List again this semester. First I need to bring up my grades. But if it doesn’t happen this semester, it HAS to next semester. That’s the real goal.
Wish me luck?

Starting college in the just weeks at Texas State. The “party school” of Texas.
Nobody I talk to believes me when I say I don’t party…
I have high standards for college. Please understand that.

I finished one semester of chem a week or two ago and did end up with an A out of that class. I’ll be finishing another semester of biology this month and then another chem class towards the end of August.
The bio and chem are being taken at two different schools. (i was able to work a bit longer by taking a bio night class at a local community college) and all the chem is at Logan so I’m not sure if there’s a min number of hours that need to be taken before I could be on the Deans List at Logan which is what I would like.
Still, I’ll keep w/ the spirit of the goal and try to maintain a high enough effort to get the grades I am capable of.
After 6 test in bio I have a solid A and only 4 more test to go in that class with my next one being tomorrow night. We have our first chem II test next Tuesday (7/22) and I’m just kind of hopeful right now.
All this stuff is pretty new to me but, as long as I do what I’m supposed to and can maturely handle anything else that may come my way in life then I should end up doing pretty well in the two classes which currently remain.

because of discouragement from last semester (not making good grades) and because of the fact that I figured out I am making bad grades because I am not really enjoying the my major, I have decided to take a semester- possibly a year off. I took a class last semester (the one I actually did well in) called biomechanics which led me to a possible future job working in a field of study called ergonomics and product design. So this is great that I have figured out my “dream job” but the thing that sucks about it is the timing. It means that I will have to get a degree in industrial design, which means I will have to transfer colleges, go to an out of state art school. Anyway, I’m not complaining! I am so happy to have a plan, but this goal to make the deans list will have to be put on hold until I am going to school again!

I want to make the Dean’s List for the Summer Trimester at Logan College of Chiropractic. I’ll need a 3.5 GPA on a 4.0 scale. :)

Since making this a goal, I have actually done it twice. It is definitely worth doing. It feels so good to be validated for your efforts in the last semester!
