Eau des Merveilles really has to get out of that career killer dead end job.

I went to Italy for the first time when I was 4 to meet my grandparents and my aunt. We never saw the “touristy” stuff that everyone else gets to see, but I don’t mind because I got to meet them. They’ve all since died, and my goal is to go back to Italy and visit their graves to leave them flowers. I may not have seen the art and monuments everyone else has seen there, but I got more out of going to Italy than most other people can say.

Right, enough waiting, I am going to start planning a visit to Italy as my next holiday, I’ve been putting it off as I feel I cannot afford to even think about it, but today I am going to be positive and assume I will soon have a new well paid job and therefore will be able to go on holiday next year. :-)

I have several friends who have been to Italy and loved it. I want to see so much there that I need to have a lot of time to do it.

If ever I've lived a past lives. 3 weeks ago

I’d say one of them had to be in Italy. I can’t really descibe the affinity I have for the place, but I’d love to get there someday. And of course there is my infatuation with Venetian (and Mardi Gras) masks. I would LOVE to experience just one day as one of those gorgeous, surreal, hollow-eyed, otherwordly creature-dolls, roaming the city during the Venetian Carnival.

Ah, “The Homeland”. Well, for my family and I anyways. Italy. Italia! I’m roughly 75% Italian, even though I don’t admit to any other cultural/ethnic background. My paternal grandmother was Italian, my maternal grandfather is Sicilian, and my maternal grandmother is Napoletano. My maternal grandmothers family has a castle named after them right outside of a village near Naples. The area has been referred to as Campobasso (also known as “the outskirts of Chaves”) The castle is Castello Monforte (my grandmother’s maiden name is Monforte – and Nicola II Monforte – do your research – is my great-great-great-great-great-great grand-uncle). Both my great grandmother and my grandmother were named after his niece- Filomena Monforte.

I’ve always wanted to bring my grandmother and mother to Italy to see the castle – it’s now a national monument, open to the public, however, now with my grandmother’s declining health, I’m not sure that’s a possibility.

I have (obviously) made it a life goal for myself to go and stand in the fortress of my ancestors.

Seeing Italy 2 months ago

The best part for me was Cinque Terre – a bit touristy but the views of the cliffs, the amazing food, and the hikes were amazing! A great first stop in Italy.

Going to Italy is totally worth it. It’s not good to go ther during the summer months as it is well over 100 degrees, even early in the morning. August is the worst month to go.

I’ll go there for 3 years but it never happened ı hope one day before it sinks because of global warming
