 "Finding volunteer opportunities that are personally rewarding AND that fit in my schedule was tough, but it's totally rewarding."
How I did it: I thought about the things in my life that mean the most to me: my family, education, my pets, etc. Then I searched around for groups that would be able to use my skills and experience and found ways to give them my time in a way that both fit with my schedule and helped them. Now I'm volunteering with a public library, with an animal shelter, and am a Big Sister! Lessons & tips: Use volunteer directories, but also think of the things you are good at and have experience doing (and enjoy) and contact organizations who could use you the most. Resources: Internet volunteering databases, websites of particular organizations, ads in papers.

Little Brothers Friends of the Elderly

I started volunteering with a group called Little Brothers Friends of the Elderly this summer. It’s rewarding and I enjoy it, but I only work with them a couple of times a month. Now I’m looking for more to add to this. I figure it’s better to come back little by little so I don’t get burned out again. I’ve realized though, no matter how bad your day is, you always feel better if you can make someone else’s day better. Instant karma.

I use to volunteer in school but now that I am out I really dont do it that much anymore. I go to my camp but I dont count that because is just so much fun! I just have to get online and start searching.

great way to get this goal on the move. I have so many things going that I afraid that I won’t have time for them all. Hmm.. But I shall make time. I should have started volunteering ages ago. Why didn’t I?

volunteer more, since i have done some volunteering and i liked the experience i want to do it more.
i have always been keen of understanding why some people suffer so much in life.. i see loads of people suffering from poverty,illiteracy,abuse and lots of other stuffs, i try to analyze the situation and i always come up with the conclusion that if people start thinking in this way then even a small step can make a lot of difference..
so i feel, if i am able to volunteer at least some hours from busy life, i would be more than happy.
I will put this goal into “done” list only after i complete at least 43 hrs of volunteering in next 7 months.

Felt pretty good about doing it! it was for a children’s hospital! I want to do more behind the scenes things next like big sis programs or event planning for groups!

i actually have to have volunteer hours for school, but
i can’t find how many i have to have.
i’m thinking i’ll doing some volunteer work with political campaigns, since my mom is also very involved.
since i can’t drive by myself, i kinda need her to transport me to the places to volunteer, and all the other volunteer options that i liked were “too far away”.
