i2adicaldreamer wants to be a shark in the water!
How I did it: enrolled for "swimming" at a local community college. this way, i won't feel embarrassed learning how to swim because everyone is about 18+ yrs old and not children.the only downside for the beginning swim class that i took was that the lessons depended on the pace that the beginners were at. we learned up to backstroke because some were not ready to move further. but this gave me the basics to improve my swim strokes on my own now, and l… Read how I did it…

It seems like alot of fun sport require the ability to swim: snorkeling, surfing, scooba diving, etc … all the fun the sun stuff that I love. So, I guess I want to learn how to swim well. I plan to go to a swimming pool and just hang out in the water for an hour tonight after dinner to start.
Lightning McQueen is read to give some thanks
i need to do this. ive been contemplating this a lot this past year. i spend a lot of time on boats and on the water. i’ve almost drowned twice in my life, last time was over 5 years ago. i went inner tubing on a river this past summer and was scared to death about drowning. it probably wasn’t to smart to be drinking either. i’ll get bri to teach me, she’s a certified lifegaurd and she’s my bff.
seesaw made sushi today!!!!
my friend Avy also wants to learn to swim. yehey! now i’m not alone. learning would definitely be more fun! =)

joined my local YMCA , i am going to be taking another beginner’s class sometime early next year. I had to stop because of GED classes for awhile.
This is part of my larger goal to complete a triathlon! My local YMCA has adult classes, and I’ve looked into private lessons as well, but I haven’t had the money. Maybe after the holidays I’ll reassess my finances and make it happen!

Today (11/18/08) I called the local YMCA and asked about their health and fitness programs and their aquatics programs. I plan on going down there for a tour either this week or next.
Swam by myself with no paddle board for part of the pool. I can now swim as long as I can breath out under water once I raise my head to breathe I lose my balance. Practice Practice Practice
I did well with my first round of classes. I learned to swim on my back. This time My goal is to swim on my stomach with out the paddle board.
