to also reuse. I’ll be making gift baskets with items I no longer need. Extra candles, bubble bath etc. made into wonderful gift baskets.

I had a sale last weekend. Still moving in my new place and wasn’t sure what to do about needing tables for the volumes of “things” I was purging. I stood quietly on my driveway conjuring up all the imaginative ideas that I could…then it came to me…. DOORS! When I was newly married at 18 years old, (many, many moons ago), we had no furniture and needed to furnish every room in our 2 story house. My ex-husband and I created “simple” furniture until we could acquire all the pieces we needed. Our first dining room table was made of an old door and 2 saw horses. I have plenty of “tables” in my new 2 bedroom, 2 bath home. No saw horses, but plastic buckets worked just fine. Even though the sale went swimmingly, I still have a lot left over. Next step…utilize an online bartering site like Freecycle & Cheapcycle and donate to the nearest homeless shelter. WOW! This feels wonderful!!!

A few days ago I decided to clean up my living space and after a few hours, I was able to get rid of most of the junk I didn’t need. As much as I love having a clean living space, I hate cleaning itself. It’s all about motivation!
I moved out 2 months ago and did not get rid of many stuff, just throw it all in boxes and moved…. Not I’m changing room with one of my roomates and that’s the right time to do it… I’m pretty sure I won’t have much left once it will be done, which it pretty good… Hope I’ll be able to stay that way.

Seven books and one old textbook to the used bookstore… although I took two bags of books over, the guy was rather picky about what he would and wouldn’t buy!! Sigh~ But, I have $10.35 I didn’t have before. Tomorrow I’m going to try sell my wallet and iPod charger.

My plan is to sell the nicer stuff on Ebay for a bit of cash, and then give or get as much as I can for my other stuff on Craigslist. Alternatively, donate it to Goodwill. If I still have unwanted junk: throw it all out! AHAHahaha!!
Lugging a horribly heavy suitcase, laptop bag, and bulging backpack through two train stations today has convinced me of the dark side of owning a lot of possessions.
Major closet cleanup! It was tough, never knew one could get so attached to pieces of cloth :D
So let’s pay our last respect to my:
- knitted rainbow vest (allegedly the most Kimmie piece of clothing I ever owned)
- bright red Overseas pants (my skating days are sort of over)
- two long wintercoats (one totally worn down, the other a hardly worn 100euro mistake)
- my matching ‘kiss my monkey’ shirt that I bought with Lein, after phoning her to confirm that she also had thrown it away
- two bags full of other, less memorable stuff
