I’ve got a new dentist now. Someone I can trust, unlike my previous one. Wasn’t so hard getting one, though.

I don't know why 10 months ago

I’m dragging my feet on this. I like my teeth. I don’t want them all to fall out.

I think I’m depressed because I really loved my old dentist. I went to him since I was a little girl, and he and his hygienists were so sweet and kind, and always told me my teeth looked great and were so gentle. I actually enjoyed going to the dentist, strange as it sounds.

However, this happiness surrounding my teeth came to an end when I got my job and became covered under different insurance. So now I need to find a new dentist. I have visions of any new foreign dentist as being a frightening man who, while emitting horrible, evil laughter, attacks me with his deadly arsenal of gleaming metal tools. I’m sure they can’t all be like that. And my previous dentist wasn’t the only kind one in the world. Sigh. I need to get moving on this.

Simple—but I finally did it. I’m totally freaked about the dentist, but I’m facing this head on and going to follow through with the next step: actually VISITING the dentist.

I think I found one 1 year ago

I think I found a dentist. I haven’t called or made an appointment, but she is close to my house and a Google search brought up a glowing review of her on someone’s blog.

it's a start! 1 year ago

Saw an ad for a place (a local dental school) looking for volunteers to get their teeth cleaned as part of the final exams for hygiene students. Possibly get paid $400! heck yes; my husband and I were there! Well, I haven’t been to the dentist in five years and he hasn’t been in 15, but our teeth were STILL too good to qualify! My god, those plaque-reducing toothpastes really work! The good thing is, though, this got us over the hurdle of just sitting in the chair again (not too painful, not too scary) so now we’re looking for a real dentist in earnest.

(edited because I don’t know what was causing the strikethrough)

Had a root canal in August, it cost me $400 for just one tooth, ouch :(

People with kids generally have a dentist. I just asked a few friends, and they all go to the same guy!
