Lose Weight / Exercise  — 4 weeks ago

I need to lose 40-60 pounds but I’d be satisfied if I could just lose 10-20.

I know the basics – eat less and exercise more. But, when I start a diet or “Nutrition Plan”, I don’t stick with it. Sometimes I go back to “pigging out” on the same day. I’m extremely weak when it comes to sweets, especially chocolate. If I eat one sweet, I’ll eat a dozen.

As for exercise, I’m currently in Physical Therapy twice a week and I usually walk twice a week. I want to increase my walking and take Aquacise (Water Aerobics) or something similar when my Therapy runs out.

I mentioned that our apartment complex swimming pool has been open since last mid-May, so I have started taking more opportunities to go out and swim there.

I feel badly for the neighborhood children. Just last Friday, quite a few were coming to the door saying “the pool’s open” and asking when we would be down there to supervise them. Boo to lazy parents.

Anyways (back on topic), I have been making an effort to go to the gym pool on Tuesdays and Thursdays to take advantage of hydrotherapy time. It has been an important tool in my cross-training regimen, and I am working to be regular with that routine again.

Taking opportunities where I can to be active  — 4 weeks ago

For those of you crazy enough to read my other entries, I wrote about walking with my daughter to the farmer’s market (and a bit about the adventures to and from) and about taking more time at the pool here at the apartment complex.

As a father of two busy young children, more often than not, quite a bit of exercise is keeping them busy.

hey!...have to have to have to absolutely lose atleast 20 pounds off me by end september/ october. no slacking off this time. Have one of the biggest parties coming up :), my best friend’s wedding. So I decided i’ll have to lose it. The dress is gorgeous and I dont want to look like i’m popping out of it …so goal is to lose 20 pounds by end october. And this time I’m going to do it by Yoga. I have signed up with http://www.zendle.com and I’m starting in a day or so.

my mom was on weight watchers and it worked really well cause it is not like a diet, and its a healthy way to lose weight, but it takes a long time.

I lose weight a LOT faster. i skip a couple meals and count calories and lose about 10 pounds a week! go me!

Worth doing!

i lost 60 lbs over two years on weight watchers using the online points system, its easy and it worked for me. Also, I walk dogs and go to the gym to help keep the weight off./

I’ll conveniently blame bad gas prices, but really, I should make more of an effort to use the pool here at the apartments, now that it’s open.

Normally, it would have been opened today, as I said earlier.

But yes, I haven’t been to the gym much.

So, I have got my new running shoes, and they are confy as hell! The weighted gloves are great too, and help me be more aware of my movement, I feel.
I checked my weight yesterday – and I’m at a 73 kilos right now. I think I was around 78 kilos when I first came here (about 3 months ago, 1 month since I started this work-out regimen), so it’s all good.
I’m really interested in parkour too, and am looking at websites by other enthusiasts on how to build core strength, as well as training. Hopefully, I can start doing a few tricks in another 2 months!
Anyone in Mumbai interested in getting a group together to train? Leave me a comment on here!

A pool in "my own backyard" opens again  — 2 months ago

Pain was keeping me away from the gym, so I’m very glad that our apartment manager was kind enough to open our pool at the complex early yesterday.

So I was able to get in yesterday (but couldn’t do much with all the people) and today (empty, so I could do a lot more).

I went on a diet, swore off drinking & heavy eating,& in 14 days I had lost exactly two weeks. asks, “I use stairs,takin' 3 steps at a time,for ma cardio workout for abt 30 mins 4x a week,BUT they say prolonged use of stairs may lead to kidney failure.how far is this true?shall i stop this kind of cario workout?help me”
